  • DLe droit de ne respecter aucune loiThe right not to respect any law

Explanation

The 1789 Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen says that freedom consists in being able to do anything that does not harm others. Everyone can think, express themselves and live as they wish, without preventing others from doing the same.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • B. Being able to do anything you want, even if it bothers others — Freedom has a limit: not preventing another person from doing the same.
  • C. A right only for people born in France — Freedom is a right for everyone, with no difference based on the country of origin of a person or of their parents.
  • D. The right not to respect any law — Freedom has limits, and these limits are set by law.
